What’s new at Design Pool?
Since our recent big update to the Design Pool website, we’ve been adding many new patterns to the licensable and mapping libraries. We’ve also added new material options as more printers sign up to license our patterns. If it’s been a while since you’ve poked around the website, now is a good time to check out what’s new.
First, here are 5 of our newest pattern collections.
The Ikat Collection
The Ikat Collection was inspired by the laborious, resist-dye technique known as ikat. The beautiful, irregular edges of shapes that make ikat so recognizable were reimagined in this group of patterns for digital printing.
The Wicker Good Collection
Kristen designed this collection of patterns because textures are a significant trend in digital printing, particularly for flooring and laminates. These patterns replicate woven techniques such as rattan, wicker, and caning.
Circle Collection
This group of patterns is an interesting collection of classic geometrics. More than just simple circles, each pattern has a surprise texture or a layer of another pattern to give the humble circle a splash of interest.
More Landscape Patterns
Our landscape patterns are popular choices for customizing a KwickScreen. These patterns are larger in scale (although they can be scaled smaller if needed) and intentionally directional. They also feature natural elements to bring nature indoors and are successful selections for privacy curtains or wallcovering.
Collage Inspired Patterns
This small group of patterns was conceived as cut paper shapes. Once digitized, those shapes retain the paper’s texture and the collage’s dimension. These patterns are playful and whimsical, perfect for rooms needing some energy.
Next, we have even more material options for you to choose from.
You may notice there are now sixteen icons on each pattern page with different types of materials. A few of the new companies licensing our patterns are:
FabriTRAK Systems
The FabriTRAK System is a unique stretch wall and ceiling acoustic system. These systems create premium sound solutions for interior spaces.
Lucent Graphic Solutions
Lucent Graphic Solutions, based in Costa Mesa, California, is an established leader in the custom vehicle wrap industry. Recently, though, they have begun to focus on custom wallcoverings and graphics. They ship worldwide but are also a licensed installer for projects in Southern California.
NuVision Window Film and Graphics
NuVision Window Film and Graphics has operated from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, since 2010. They specialize in architectural surfaces in spaces such as offices and hospitals and are excited to grow their business with more design options.
Graphix Unlimited
Graphix Unlimited digitally prints on easy to apply and remove wallpaper and our favorite dry-erase wallpaper. They also have Veilish window fabric, a product with a unique texture that is easy to apply and remove from windows and glass.
Rainbow Leather
The Design Pool team had the chance to visit Rainbow Leather’s facility in person to see their capability firsthand. Their space is a mix of fascinating old machinery working on leather for decades and the newest in high-tech digital printing.
Lastly, don’t forget about the mapping library.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Design Pool mapping library, we hope you’ll check it out and see if it’s right for your business. This library is for subscribers only, and lets you download low-resolution images of patterns to use in rendering software such as SketchUp, Revit, and Chief Architect.
