Nostalgia Inspired Collections

Researching Spring 2025 Color Trends, we were inspired by some of the themes in different designer collections. One theme we saw come up in various expressions was the feeling of vintage, retro, or nostalgia. Delivering nostalgia in interiors can be accomplished in a variety of ways. Those who love the hunt can scour their local shops for vintage pieces.  Another technique is to add nostalgia inspired elements, such as wallpaper with retro motifs or traditional patterns with a bit of a twist.

Need some inspiration to get started? Here are three different nostalgia inspired collections.

Mid-Century Modern

We’ll confess, our Mid-Century Modern collection was designed after binging episodes of Mad Men. These patterns are all clean geometrics with a hint of texture to soften the looks. These patterns work well on upholstery, flooring, or wallcovering.

Museum L-A Collection

This collection was inspired by touring the Museum L-A in Lewiston, Maine, which has since rebranded as the Maine Museum of Innovation, Learning, and Labor, or Maine MILL. Located in a former mill, the patterns in this collection were based on original documents designed at the mill.

The Vintage Tile Collection

The Vintage Tile Collection is inspired by vintage tile designs. When designing these patterns, Kristen researched the history of using tiles in homes and how those tiles were manufactured. These patterns are perfect for flooring and wallcovering to give the look of tile with the ease of a flat material.
