Design Pool’s Highlights from 2022

One of our favorite parts of the year ending is looking back on what we accomplished over these last twelve months. And, of course, doing so always helps us plan ahead for the upcoming year. Looking back, we’re amazed at how much our small team at Design Pool accomplished in 2022. Just like last year, it’s hard to pick favorites, but we wanted to share five highlights from 2022.

NeoCon in Chicago

With NeoCon 2021 in October and 2022 back to its usual June, it felt like NeoCon came upon us quickly this year. In some ways, though, that meant we never lost the momentum! This year we debuted our new collection, Invisible Threads. We were excited to be named a HiP Award Honoree by Interior Design magazine for this collection in the category of Health and Wellness: Fabric and Wall Covering. We were also featured in the Interior Design NeoCon Daily on Day 2.

We’re looking forward to heading back to Chicago in June 2023.

BDNY in New York

It was our first time exhibiting at BDNY in New York. We loved introducing Design Pool to interior designers in the hospitality industry, as well as seeing what’s trending in this industry. Plus, it felt great to be back in New York City!

IIDA NE Fashion Show

Teaming up with Paul Designs Project, Formed, OFS, and Crypton for the IIDA NE Fashion Show was a blast. We loved flexing our creative muscles at the sewing machine and the loom and helping to take home the Best Interpretation of the Theme award.

Artist Residency at SnowFarm

Kristen’s two-week artist residency at Snow Farm in the chilly days of March helped feed her creativity for the year ahead. For Kristen, there is no separation between art and design. Each provides for the other. During those two weeks, she dyed yarn with natural dyes, completed punch needle pieces that ended up in exhibitions, and worked on small bead weavings.

In May 2023, Kristen is heading back to Snow Farm, this time as a teacher. Register today to take a three-day natural dyeing and needle punch class with Kristen.

Travel

After a long hiatus, both Kristen and Kristin got to travel, and it was energizing. Kristin returned to Kauai, a place close to her heart that continually inspires her. She returned refreshed and feeling creatively recharged. Kristen went on a creative trip to Holland with a small group of creative women. This trip inspired her Netherlands Collection and left her eager to keep exploring.

As Design Pool gets ready to turn 4, we are excited about what is in store for us in 2023.
