Design Pool Events: Fall 2023

This fall, our team is busy with a lot of events happening. We always add everything to the Design Pool events page, but since so much is happening this fall, I wanted to make sure you don’t miss anything.

First up, the Printing United Expo.

Kristen is heading to Atlanta for the three-day Printing United Expo. She will present How Digital Printers Can Work Effectively with Interior Designers on Thursday, October 19 at 2:00 PM. If you’ll be there too, we hope you’ll attend her talk. And please say hello if you see her walking around!

Next, we’re participating in a few IIDA NE events.

Our team will be present at two different IIDA NE events. First, there is Art Uncorked on October 12. This event raises money for Art in Giving, a Boston-based organization that donates funds from the sale of fine art to support pediatric cancer research. Kristen has donated one of her original punch needle art pieces for the auction.

Then, for the second year in a row, Design Pool is working with Paul Designs Project on garments for the IIDA NE Fashion Show. The theme of this year’s show is Folklore, and Paul Lewandowski has a fantastic concept planned. At last year’s show, our team won Best Interpretation of the Theme, so we’re feeling competitive this year!

We’ve got some exhibitions too.

Kristen has work on display in two different exhibitions. First, she has two pieces from her Braille Series in the show Warm and Cozy: Art that Comforts at the Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center in Solomons, Maryland. That show opens on Friday, October 13.

The same weekend, Coding Creativity: Exploring the Intersection of Art and Algorithms opens at the Hera Gallery in Wakefield, Rhode Island, where two of Kristen’s coded punch needle pieces will be displayed.

Save the date for 2024.

The Mart in Chicago

Team Design Pool will return to Chicago June 10 – 12, 2024, for our fourth NeoCon. While we are busy designing new patterns and planning our space, you should get busy putting NeoCon on your calendar. We’ll share more details about the event as it gets closer.

Hope to see you at one or more of these Design Pool events!
