The Yum Collection: Colorful & Delicious

Consider yourself warned: make sure you have a snack before viewing our Yum Collection, or you will end up hungry! Some of Kristen’s favorite food memories inspired this collection. As she sketched and designed, she envisioned these patterns printed on a range of different products and surfaces. We can picture them in cafes, bistros, ice cream shops, or cafeterias. Each pattern brings a playful and cheerful element anywhere you use it.

Now, let’s take a look at what is in the Yum Collection.

Watercolor French Pastries
“Need I say more? The French do desserts amazingly!” said Kristen about this pattern. She lived in Quebec for a few years and would often stop by her local patisserie for pastries that were as beautiful as they were delicious. Painting these foods brought back happy memories of that neighborhood, as well as travels to France.

Watercolor Pears
Pears are one of the oldest cultivated fruits and have long inspired artists. Painters often include pears in still-life paintings, and nearly every beginner drawing student will have shaded a pear. For this pattern, Kristen created a specific textured swatch in order to accurately depict the gradation of color on each of the pears.

Pineapples
This collection features three distinct pineapple patterns. Pineapple Surprise is the most realistic, while Pineapple Pattern and Pineapple Stamp are more stylized. The inherent patterning in a pineapple makes it such an interesting subject to draw and stylize. Whichever pineapple pattern is your favorite, each one brings a sunny and tropical vibe to a surface.

Coffee
“I love a good cup of coffee. It reminds me of my childhood with my grandparents,” Kristen said about her patterns Cup of Joe and Coffee to Go. Designing these patterns, she thought about coffee after Sunday dinners at her grandmother’s house, and the special occasions when the kids were allowed to have some too (albeit with a lot of milk and sugar) in the fancy cups and saucers. These days, Kristen mostly enjoys her coffee on the go. Thanks to her grandmother, she still has a taste for it sweet. As Kristen likes to say, “Caffeine and sugar? Yes, please!”

Cold Treats for Hot Days
Pattern Popsicles was inspired by this favorite childhood dessert, a staple of New England summers. This shape always brings to mind snapping it in two to make it more shareable. This pattern is fun for kids’ interiors, such as playrooms or schools.

Ice Cream & Gelato each highlight delicious summer treats. Gelato is a nod to Kristen’s Italian heritage, and Ice Cream celebrates this favorite food. Both of these patterns evoke memories of hot summer days and times spent with family and friends. They are especially suitable for kids and family spaces.

Whether you need a pattern for a large commercial project or a small home décor one, licensing one of our patterns in the Yum Collection will help you stand apart from the crowd. You can find all of them in the Design Pool Pattern Library.
