Design Pool Fall Events

We may still be enjoying the long days of summer, but our team is busily planning a lot of exciting things for the fall. Hopefully we’ll see you in person at one of these fun events. So you don’t miss anything, here’s a quick round up of Design Pool fall events.

You Are Here! Art Exhibit

This fall, Kristen is teaming up with Dayna Hartford of Dayna’s Textiles for You Are Here!, a special two-person exhibit. You Are Here! is a guided tour through the states and towns of New England as seen through the lens of pattern. Kristen and Dayna explore the personal histories that connect them to this region in both literal and symbolic ways. This exhibit features work by both artists and will be on view at the 4th Floor Gallery located in the Sandpaper Factory in Rockland, Massachusetts. The opening reception is on Saturday, September 7, from 6 – 8 PM.

Make books, drink wine, and network!

In conjunction with the show, Kristen and Dayna are hosting two fun bookmaking workshops. Both events are the same, but one is dedicated to interior designers only so there is an opportunity to network. These workshops will be fun and relaxed. Participants will learn to make three different styles of handbound books, each using papers printed with patterns from the exhibit and the Design Pool licensable library. Wine and light snacks will be available. All necessary supplies and instructions will be provided. No experience is necessary, but participants must register ahead of time. Spots are limited for both workshops, so register today if you’re interested!

The interior designers only event is on Thursday, September 19, from 6:30 – 8:30 PM. Register here.

The other event is on Friday, September 27, from 6:30 – 8:30 PM. Register here.

Design Pool’s First CEU

On Thursday, September 5, from 12 – 1 PM, Design Pool is hosting its first-ever CEU, Unleash Your Creativity with Digital Printing.

Improve your ability to effectively communicate your design vision directly with digital printers. Digital printing technology is growing exponentially, giving interior designers unprecedented creative freedom. This course explores the benefits of digital printing and explains how interior designers can use these benefits in their creative process. We will discuss the entire printing process from concept to production, including how to work with printers to communicate your design and color needs, how to format your files, where to find designs, and the basics of copyrighting. Designers will come away with a firm grasp of how to work with a digital printer to create a space with a wholly unique experience.

Healthcare Design Conference + Expo

Kristen will be in Indianapolis October 5 – 8 for the Healthcare Design Conference + Expo. This show describes itself as “the ultimate networking, education, and product-sourcing event” for the healthcare design industry. Design Pool exhibited at this show in Cleveland in 2021. This year, we’re teaming up with the folks at Graphix Unlimited and joining them in Booth #1332. Together, we’ll be talking about products perfect for healthcare interiors, such as their exclusive woven window film Veilish.

Any of their products can be printed with any pattern in the Design Pool library and we have many collections designed with the healthcare market in mind. In particular, our collections Invisible Threads, Swallowtail Farms, and the special R&R group in The Cryptology Collection are all suitable for healthcare. With Kristen in the booth with representatives from Graphix Unlimited, attendees will have the unique opportunity to talk with Kristen as well the printer, so no questions will go unanswered! Register before August 30 for advance rates.

Finally, if you haven’t made it to Kristen’s solo show, Top Secret, at Studio Place Arts in Barre, Vermont, the show is up through August 16, 2024.
