Vector Patterns for Commercial Use

Over the past few years, we’ve become an on demand society with much of what we need at our fingertips. We can order a car to our door, food from our favorite restaurant and have any product we want delivered right to our door. In the world of commercial and residential interiors, that is no different. Print on Demand is becoming more and more popular with a wide range of companies. Designers no longer need to pour over books or pick a design from an existing line. Each designer and each client can have their own unique product. With on demand printing comes unlimited options for custom made products using vector patterns.

Not sure if working with vector patterns from Design Pool for on-demand printing is right for your business? Let us answer some popular questions for you.

How exactly does it work?
The first step in working with vector patterns for commercial and residential interiors is considering the product to be printed on. A client may want wallpaper for a hotel lobby, privacy screens for a hospital, or upholstery for a sofa. Whatever your clients needs, Design Pool can help find the perfect pattern in our library of vector designs created specifically with residential and commercial interiors in mind. If one of our existing designs doesn’t work for your needs, we can work together to design the perfect pattern.

We have created partnerships with a wide range of businesses that offer print on demand solutions for their clients. Businesses such as VividBoard, LDI Interiors, and KwickScreen all have worked with us to create products that have a unique appeal for their markets.

What makes vector designs so preferable?
Designs can be created digitally using one of two different formats, raster or vector, and each type has different qualities.

Raster designs are created in programs such as Photoshop and are based on a pixel system, so each part of the design is actually one tiny square. Vector designs though, are free from pixels, which makes them great for scalability. Increasing or decreasing the size does not lose quality because the design is not dependent on resolution. Vector designs can be scaled for the side of a bus or a business card. Unlike other design libraries, our vector designs are created in repeat.

Using vector graphics, our patterns are designed to be seamless on all four sides, which are perfect for wallpaper or upholstery, and others are created as a landscape design, perfect for a mural or screen.

Who are creating the designs at Design Pool?
All of our designers are trained in surface and pattern design and hold degrees in illustration or textile design. They are skilled at working in repeat and designing repeats that are seamless. The eye will not pick up on repeat marks, or unintended striping, a sure sign that a pattern was created with limited skill or less expertise. All of our designers have worked designing for commercial and residential interiors and know the markets they are designing for.

What are my design options?
You can start off by looking through our existing library of over 500 designs to see if there is a pattern that works for your needs. Unlike other design libraries out there, the library at Design Pool has been created with interiors in mind. You can even search our library by market category if you want to see patterns that would work for just healthcare or hospitality. You can also search by color or by design style. If you don’t see what you need, we can work with you to create a custom design. If you see a pattern you like but the color isn’t perfect, we can work with you to develop the perfect color way for your project.

Why not just create designs in-house?
Good design and good color can make or break or a sale. A lot of businesses do not necessarily need a full time design staff for their types of product. Knowing Photoshop or Illustrator does not make a person a designer. Even good designers are not necessarily skilled at the intricacies of pattern design and working in repeat. Your company could waste a lot of time and resources working with people who do not have the skills or expertise to create a quality design. Rather than waste money, work with a design library created with your industry in mind.

Working with vector designs from the Design Pool library can add good aesthetics and unique patterns to your products. Our designs are easy to work with, adapt to your specifications, and come in a file type ready to share with your production team.
