The Story Of This Design - Not Just A Pretty Picture
Navajo Stripe is inspired by the layers of rock in the Southwest landscape. Stripes of rectangles have been created using different textures and feels like a collage. This stripe translates well at all sizes. This pattern is part of the Abiquiu Collection. Kristen designed the Abiquiu Collection after a trip to New Mexico, where she took a Navajo weaving workshop. The trip included a tour of Georgia O’Keeffe’s home in Abiquiu, followed by three days of learning to weave at Ghost Ranch. The experience of weaving in this stunningly beautiful landscape left her inspired to design a collection based on the shapes, colors, textures, and weaves that surrounded her.
