Introducing Our Proprietary Designs CollectionKristin Crane
At Design Pool, we understand that licensing designs isn’t always the best solution for every business. For those customers, we’ve put together a special collection of proprietary designs. Every design in this collection is individually priced and available for purchase. With this collection, you pay a flat fee upon purchase with no royalty structure. This means you own the design and that’s it! You assume exclusive rights to the design and can use it as many times as you want, however you want.
What’s in our collection of proprietary designs?
We’ve worked with different independent designers to offer a wide range of looks. Each designer has a different hand and different aesthetic. One thing they have in common though is that they are all well trained and have experience in the industry. They are all also extremely talented independent designers and awesome human beings.
So, who are our designers?
Well, first, a lot of the designs have been created by our founder, Kristen Dettoni. These designs all have the look and feel of everything you love in the Design Pool library. Kristen has extensive knowledge designing for mills and designs patterns perfect for interiors.
Next, we have several patterns from Rhode Island-based designer and artist Paula Stebbins Becker. Paula is an incredibly talented designer whose unique style comes from her intuitive approach to working. Many of her designs begin in her studio as cut paper before she moves to the computer to create digital files.
We also connected with Barry Roode of Mushaboom Designs. Barry has years of experience designing contract fabrics and even teaching textile design. Originally from Canada, Barry has the spirit of a nomad, and his love of art, design, and culture has taken him around the world. His collection was designed while spending time living in Morocco. Inspired by plants, textiles, and decorative elements in architecture, his designs radiate an international energy.
Lastly, we are working with designer and illustrator Rebecca Pry. Rebecca is an illustrator, graphic designer, teacher, and designer with a colorful and energetic personality. She created a collection for us she calls 80’s Reimagined, inspired by her extensive thrifted sweater collection. She adds a sophisticated twist to funky and wacky patterns and may inspire you to put on your Walkman while you’re looking through her designs.
How does it work?
First, you need to sign up for a free Design Pool membership. This membership will give you access to view the proprietary design page of our website. Search through our designs and find the perfect design for your project. Each design will have the price clearly shown under the pattern name.
Hit Add to Cart when you’ve made your decision. When you’re done shopping, go to your shopping cart and complete your transaction. Once payment is complete, download the files for your digital design.
The design is now yours! Use it as is in a print, translate it into a jacquard fabric, or use it in whatever creative project you make. Have questions about our proprietary collection? Let us know in the comments, or email us and we can walk you through it.
