Image Craft, the Newest Design Pool Partner

We are so excited to welcome Image Craft as the newest Design Pool partner. Located in Phoenix, Arizona, Image Craft is nationally recognized for its design, production, and execution of visual communications, with a focus on environmental graphics. Our partnership makes it possible to print any pattern from the Design Pool library on any Image Craft product, particularly their sound-absorbing wallcoverings and acoustic panels. These functional panels are perfect for interiors and can function as a permanent or temporary solution.

We sat down with Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Brent Moncrief, to learn more about Image Craft and their passion for digital printing.

Can you tell me a bit about Image Craft?

Image Craft was founded by our owner Doug Olson in 1979 in a spare closet in his apartment in Tucson, Arizona. It was initially established to process black and white film for photographers. Doug’s mission was to have a company by artisans, for artisans and offer the highest quality photography developing and printing in the area. He eventually grew his business and became the largest photo processing facility in the Valley.

When photography started shifting away from film to digital, Doug transitioned his business to focus on digital photographic and inkjet output. As digital cameras became ubiquitous, many people developed a “good enough is good enough” attitude toward image quality. Image Craft stayed true to its mission of  delivering the highest quality large format prints.

Over time, Image Craft expanded our printing services beyond photos, while maintaining our commitment to quality, consistency, and repeatability. Our large format printers print interior décor products such as large-scale photo prints, art reproductions, and fine art prints. We also print wall covering, digital wallpaper, and sound-absorbing acoustic panels.

What makes Image Craft unique?

We don’t say no to literally anything a client throws at us. There are times we likely should, but it’s not in our DNA. If a customer comes to us with a unique request, we embrace the challenge. Our team is so creative. We love to figure out how to make someone’s vision a reality while staying within their budget and timeline. We also pride ourselves on our artistry. Our reputation was built on offering the highest quality, and that continues to be one of our core values.

There are many exciting opportunities in digital printing.

What makes you excited about digital printing technology?

Digital printing offers the ability to make one of one. The future wants to be self-served.

More and more, people don’t want to buy off the shelf. They want to get what they want, the way they want it. Digital printing makes that possible. We can personalize anything, whether a hip downtown office or a rustic bedroom.

How can you see digital printing changing interior design?

This technology can make a significant impact on interior design once designers learn how to harness it. Interior designers are still learning what possibilities are out there. I see digital printing becoming another norm. As the technology has matured, the economic barriers to entry have eroded. Suddenly, it’s affordable to change out artwork on a more regular cadence or try out a seemingly crazy idea. The possibilities really are endless. We once had a customer ask if we could make a wrap for their stainless-steel exhaust hood to make it look like brick. And we did! People want to stand out and be unique, whether in homes or offices, and digital printing can make that happen.

Fun fact about your company?

Image Craft has such an interesting workforce. When I joined the company last year, I was surprised to learn that most people who work here are artists, with both photographers and fine artists on staff. It’s great to see them bring their creativity to their jobs, and it’s always inspiring to hear about the creative work people are doing outside of the office.

Thanks so much to Brent for taking the time to talk with us about our new partnership. If you want to learn more about Image Craft, visit their website or follow them on Instagram.
