How to Search the Design Pool Library

We’ve been working to make our website even more user-friendly. If the thought of searching through over 600 designs seems daunting, don’t worry. It has never been easier to search the Design Pool library and all 600+ patterns.

It’s easy to search the Design Pool library.

When you visit the Licensable Designs Page of our website, you will see all of the designs in our library. The designs at the top are the ones most recently added to the library. If you visit the library frequently, this means you’ll always see the newest designs first. On the left side of the screen, you’ll see all the various filters you can use to make searching easy. Keep reading to learn about each of the filters and what they mean.

Categories

There are three main categories you can search through if you want to see a lot of options all at once.

  • Geometric: designs with shapes and generally harder edges.
  • Landscape: designs that repeat only horizontally.
  • Organic: designs with softer edges and natural inspired motifs.

Color Family

Each pattern we add to the library comes in five different colorways. If you’re looking for a particular color, you can click on the color you’re looking for and only see patterns that come in that color. There is one important thing to keep in mind when using this feature. The results that come up when you select color will be every pattern that has that color in its colorline. The thumbnails displayed will be the first one from each product page, but that first thumbnail may not be the color you selected. So, if you love a pattern, just click on it to see all the colors offered, including the one you chose.

Don’t forget, if you fall in love with a pattern but it doesn’t have the color you need, let us know. We also offer custom colors.

Market

We tag each of our patterns with the market we think it is suitable for. We break it down into five different markets.

  • Education
  • Healthcare
  • Hospitality
  • Office
  • Residential

Of course, these are just a guide. You can always use any pattern you love, wherever you want.

Theme

Our theme filter is probably the most specific of all the filters. This is where we try to be as exact as possible about the particular type of pattern and design elements. We have 26 different themes such as polka dot, houndstooth, Greek key, or novelty. If you work with pattern a lot and speak its language, this is the filter that lets you get very specific results quickly.

Technique

When designing our patterns, we utilize a variety of creative techniques. The magic of digital printing is that the possibilities are endless when it comes to different ways to make a beautiful pattern. If you love a certain type of technique, this would be the place to narrow down your options by searching 17 different terms such as: watercolor, ombre, block printed, modern, and more.

Shape

Finally, you can search by shape. This is probably most useful if you have a geometric pattern in mind, but we also tag patterns by dominant shapes. For example, if a floral motif is shaped like a circle, we’ll tag it circle. We have 14 different shapes to search through, including divided shapes and linear.

Lastly, you can also use the search bar. Just type in what you’re looking for and results will be generated that fit your criteria.

Don’t forget, we also have a library of proprietary patterns if you are looking to buy a pattern and not license one.
