Design Pool as a Resource for Digital Printers

Digital printers partner with Design Pool for a range of reasons. Usually, they are looking to expand their business into new markets and are looking for a resource to help them grow quickly. We are set up to help printers grow their businesses in two ways. First, we funnel requests from interior designers through our website directly to printers. Second, printers use our Design Pool as a resource and tool to access hundreds of designs and grow their business.

Why digital printers use Design Pool as a resource.

Option to Customize Scale

Printers download our files in vector format. Unlike raster files, vector files make it easy to adjust the scale of a pattern to fit a customer’s needs.

Add Visual Texture

One of Design Pool‘s signature looks is texture. We have deep roots in designing for American weaving mills. When we started to design for prints, we wanted to find a way to bring the look of woven textiles to any material. We do this by adding areas of texture to designs instead of just flat colors. There are a couple of things to know about regarding texture.

  1. Texture can be removed from the file if desired. If you are printing on a highly textured surface, the texture in the design might not enhance the overall product. For this reason, we set up our files to allow you to remove texture if needed.
  2. Texture requires an extra step to scale. We create our patterns in vector format, but most of the textures within that format do not scale in the same way. If you simply scale up, the textures will get pixelated. Instead, you need to repeat out the texture. This process is easy to do, and all printers are given instructions.

Hundreds of Designs

The Design Pool licensable library already has hundreds of pattern designs, and we add designs weekly. This quantity of patterns may seem overwhelming to sift through, but we make it easy to search our library using various filters. There is also a wishlist feature so you can save your favorites. Additionally, we pin our patterns on Pinterest so you can very quickly see entire categories such as ogees, novelties, or circles.

Custom Design & Color Options

Even with hundreds of options, we understand that sometimes you need something very specific. We can work with you on a custom pattern or color so that you never miss out on a sale. Please note that additional design fees may apply depending on the complexity and timeline of the request.

Royalty Payment Structure

By licensing a design instead of buying one, there is a low upfront cost to getting into new business markets. You don’t need to invest in designers, design software, or trend forecasting services. You just need to train your existing salesforce to use Design Pool as a resource and train employees on how to download and scale our patterns. We are available for virtual or in-person training sessions if needed.

Our most successful partnerships utilize our library to augment their existing business and branch into new markets with a limited initial investment. If you have questions about partnering, we’re here to answer them! Are you interested in becoming a partner? We’d love to have a discussion to see if you’d be a good fit. We always vet all potential partners to be sure they’ll deliver high-quality products with excellent customer service.
